Can I tan before and after the semi-permanent make-up treatment?

Both before and after the permanent make-up treatment, tanning is not recommended. Two of the main reasons why you shouldn’t tan before the semi-permanent makeup procedures are: your skin will be dry and peeling, and your skin will change the colour, not allowing a technician to accurately choose the pigments for your treatment. It is difficult to choose the correct pigment colour when the skin is tanned, because that is not your ‘’real’’ skin colour and tone, and the pigment will change once the tan is gone. After the semi-permanent procedure, you should not expose your freshly pigmented skin to the sun rays for about 3 to 4 weeks. For example, freshly done eyebrows when exposed to the sun may turn bluish or ashy tones.

Can I drink alcohol on the day of the semi-permanent makeup treatment and after it?

Drinking alcohol is not recommended for 2-3 days before and after the semi-permanent makeup procedures. Alcohol thins your blood and can act the same way as any blood-thinning medications. It may be responsible for pigment migration under the skin, excessive bleeding during the treatment and oedema (swelling).
