Are fake lashes hard to maintain?

Most people get eyelash extensions because they are tired of the daily ritual of mascara, and just want to look good each morning without any fuss. Some people get them because they still love to wear eye makeup, but want to have that extra special something to make their eyes shine.
Step by step lash extension aftercare.
Eyelash extensions require some maintenance to keep them looking their best.
1. Thorough Cleaning – Cleaning your lashes is important for them to last and for your eyes to stay healthy. Some people avoid proper cleaning being scared that their extensions will fall out. Regular cleaning removes build up of makeup, dirt, and debris, preventing the breakdown of the glue bond and allowing your natural lashes to remain healthy.
We recommend to wash your lashes once or twice a day using a gentle eye makeup remover and an oil-free lash wash or shampoo. Use a soft bristle brush to massage the cleanser into the root of your eyelashes, and rinse with water.
2. Makeup Removal – It is very important to remove all eye makeup, including mascara, every day before washing your lashes. Use an oil-free makeup remover to avoid any oil content that may break down the adhesive.
3. Avoid Oil-Based Cosmetics – Products containing oil can weaken the glue bonds and cause the lashes to come off early. Avoid lash growth treatments that aren’t intended for eyelash extensions, cleansing oils, eye makeup removers with oil, wipes with glycerine, baby wipes, and any products designed for very dry skin or for instant makeup removal. Choose the oil-free alternatives.
4. Eyeliner for eyelash extensions – If using eyeliner with your extensions, choose one that isn’t waterproof, water-resistant, colour-stay, kohl pencil, or waterproof gel liner. These types of eyeliners can be difficult to remove and may need an oil based makeup remover.
5. Avoid Heat and Sweating – Excessive heat, such as saunas or hot baths, may affect your lash extensions. Wash and dry your lashes after exercising – sweat and oils can impact the glue.
6. 24 hours after lash application – (infills and new sets) avoid makeup, direct water on your face, don’t touch or play with your eyelashes, avoid baths, showers or washing your hair. Plan your appointment in advance before any events or trips.
By following these guidelines and incorporating good lash care habits, you can enjoy beautiful eyelash extensions for longer. With proper care and maintenance, you’ll find that lash extensions not only save you time from daily mascara application but also give you stunning and hassle-free look.
