What is Eyebrow henna treatment?

If you like the look of natural but defined eyebrows, then the henna powder treatment is for you. With the application of powder henna, we can create beautiful and natural-looking eyebrows. The henna powder comes in a variety of different colours and shades, that can be custom mixed to achieve the best colour match for any client. We will choose the right colour and shape the brows to match our client’s face. After the treatment, with new nicely shaped eyebrows, your face will be enhanced and lifted, and the eyebrows will beautifully frame the eyes.

Powder henna, thanks to its wide range of colours, allows us to mix it, allowing us to get customized shades. We won’t only get black, brown or graphite colours, but also warm or cool shades. We can perfectly match the colour for blondes, brunettes or people with red hair. We will mix the colour based not only on the hair colour but primarily on the skin tone and the client’s requirements.

Eyebrow Henna FAQ's

Henna brows – can I choose the colour and shape?

When styling and shaping eyebrows, in addition to choosing the right colour, we must select and choose the correct shape for the eyebrows. The right shape and length of eyebrows is a challenge for every eyebrow stylist. We need to make sure that everything is accurately measured, styled, designed and drawn. The shape of the eyebrows we chose for the client’s face (round, square, long …) can enhance their natural beauty, as well as cover up any imperfections. On the other hand, a wrongly chosen shape can emphasize these imperfections and for example, enhance the asymmetry.

Natural powder henna will condition your eyebrows. It consists of plants rich in nutrients and moisturizers that will care for your brows for 6 weeks after the treatment. The high content of iron and keratin also stimulate eyebrow hair growth.

What is the difference between eyebrow tint and brow henna?

Eyebrow tint usually is a synthetic dye that does not contain hair-nourishing ingredients. It has to be mixed with hydrogen peroxide or an oxidant to open up the hair follicles, so the colour can penetrate the hairs from the inside. Tint does not stain the skin well, so the product will only remain on the hair (it is not a problem if you have full eyebrows hair, but if your hair is overplucked or missing, the tint won’t fill in the gaps). Depending on the skin type and aftercare – the tint stays on the skin for a couple of days only.

Are henna brows worth it?

The henna brow treatment gives great results for weak, sparse, lacking shine and vitality, grey, overplucked, slow-growing eyebrows. If you’ve been trying without any success to grow your brows for some time this treatment will help. If you’ve ever considered getting your eyebrows done more permanently, but you are afraid to have a semi-permanent tattoo, this treatment will give you a similar look without having to commit to it permanently.

Eyebrow henna helps to rebuild eyebrows, deep nourish and strengthen the eyebrow hairs and optically thicken the hair in the eyebrow area. The products are free of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, they are vegan. After the treatment, the hair is soft, shiny, moisturized. During the treatment, we also use the keratin conditioners, which further strengthens and smoothes the surface of the hair.

What is brow henna made of?

The main ingredients are:

  • Lawsonia inermis, also known as hina, the henna tree, the mignonette tree, and the Egyptian privet, is a flowering plant and the sole species of the genus Lawsonia – a natural dye is obtained from its leaves.
  • Indigo powder – is taken from the ripe and dried leaves of the bush called Indigofera Tinctoria, it is a blue dye that is designed to enhance the colour of henna.
  • Amla extract – taken from the light green and yellow fruits of Emblica Officinalis. It contains fatty acids that strengthen the hair follicles giving them a shiny and healthy look. The extract of these fruits nourishes the hair and neutralises the skin.
  • Shikakai – powder taken from the fruits of the Acacia Concinna tree gives hair shine, thickens and strengthens the hair.

Is henna good for brows?

The henna powder contains provitamin B5, vitamin E, and antioxidants. So many natural ingredients mean that this treatment not only enhances our beauty giving the nicely shaped and darker brows, but also nourishes the hair and skin. After this treatment eyebrows look healthy and shiny.

Does henna tint the skin and hair?

Yes, it does! Besides, henna is available in a whole range of colours that can be mixed together, to create new colours tailored to the client’s hair and skin tone. It is very important to match the colour properly, so it is not too dark or too light, or looks too ashy! Brow Henna also stains the skin – the effect looks like traditional makeup. Eyebrows will look like they had powder, or a pencil applied to them.

How long do henna eyebrows last?

Powder henna not only tints the hairs, but it also stains the skin. This effect stays up to 2 weeks on the skin and 6 weeks on the hair. It will gradually get lighter as it washes off the skin. How long it lasts depends on the type of skin, the skin shedding cycle and how well someone is following the recommendations after the procedure.

How often can you tint your brows with henna?

This treatment can be repeated every 5-6 weeks. We don’t recommend having the treatment done more often, as henna “wraps around” the hairs, it doesn’t penetrate the hair like the usual tint does.

What’s the aftercare for henna eyebrows?

Your new brows should be left alone for a day. You should avoid applying any oils or moisturisers on your eyebrows for a day. To get the best results from your henna eyebrow treatment, day or two before your appointment use a gentle scrub on your brows and the skin around the brow area to exfoliate dead skin cells.

Can henna help to grow back the eyebrow hairs?

Henna won’t grow the hairs, but it could help to nourish and soften them. It is rich in nutrients that will nourish the existing hairs. If you would like the help with growing back your eyebrow hairs please visit our dermapen or mesotherapy pages.

How much does henna treatment cost?

For the mapping of the shape, henna colour and shape and wax, we charge £45

Is a patch test required before henna brow treatment?

Yes, there is a mandatory patch test required by insurance, it has to be carried out 48 hours before booking your appointment.

How to prepare for the henna procedure?

You should first book an appointment for an allergy patch test at least 48 hours before the procedure. It is really important especially if you are allergic to many products, you have never tinted your eyebrows before, you are pregnant.

We always recommend that clients take a test before the first treatment to exclude the possibility of allergies, and we are not able to book any appointments until we have the test results (to comply with the insurance regulations).
